Leatid = Towards the future in Hebrew

Leatid, the European center for Jewish leadership, was founded by JDC and other European partners in order to promote professionalism and excellence the Leadership of the Jewish communities in Europe. Leatid works in essence as a graduate course for established Jewish leaders across the European continent. Leatid's curriculum focuses on strengthening community dynamics, planning, Jewish knowledge and management skills for lay leadership. Activities include intensive workshops, educational materials, and individual tutorials. Jewish leaders from all parts of Europe have taken part in Leatid training seminars, including most of the current presidents of European Jewish communities, executive directors, key board members and rabbis. The founding consortium, the European Center for Jewish Leadership (ECJL), includes the World Jewish Relief (WJR), France's Fonds Social Juif Unifie and JDC.
The Top Leaders' Seminar, Leatid's flagship event, continues to bring heads of Jewish communities together each winter in Venice's Old Jewish Quarter for sessions on community management and discussions of current Jewish issues. An alumni meeting has been added to provide a refresher course for senior leaders, along with an opportunity for policy discussions. Virtually all lay and professional leaders throughout Europe today are alumni of JDC's Leatid and/or Buncher programs.
